The Thunder Foundation (the charitable arm of Sydney Thunder) and HomeWorld have joined together to provide support for the drought ravaged farming community in Regional NSW.
The combined contribution of $15,000 will enable 460,000 litres of water and 250 hay bales to be provided.
“We know that many of our Thunder Nation families are struggling with the effects of the drought,” said Sydney Thunder General Manager Lee Germon.
“This is a small way in which we, together with HomeWorld, can try to help. Our combined donation will provide some direct relief through the provision of water and hay bales.
“In addition, we have a number of our players visiting some of these regions with the Cricket New South Wales Country Blitz and they will also provide Thunder signed items to local communities. These can be used to raise extra money to support our farming families.
“I would like our Thunder Farming communities to know we are thinking of them during this particularly tough time and will look at more ways we can help the Thunder cricket community.”
HomeWorld CEO Phil Jones said that they are very pleased to join together with the Sydney Thunder to provide this support.
“HomeWorld has been a long-standing supporter of the Thunder Foundation and the fantastic work they do in serving the wider community. We are pleased to extend our commitment by donating additional funds to go towards helping the farming communities.” said Mr Jones
