CLCR is an Australian, international not-for-profit organisation that delivers educational and humanitarian projects in Nepal. CLCR initiated the Heartland Academy more than 10 years ago and this has been the focus for CEO and founder, Patrick Price.

“CLCR’s role is to support Heartland Academy in the delivery of its programs, whilst working to build capacity and expand the influence and support to the Nepali communities”, Price said.

“We have an outstanding success rate of over 90% of all graduates attaining full time employment in the first year after leaving our school”.

Cricket gear and uniforms have been provided to the students of Heartland Academy and the local community through the Thunder Foundation, the charitable arm of Sydney Thunder.

“The gear donated over the past few years has had a huge, positive impact on both students and teachers at Heartland”, Price said.

“The gear brightens up student’s lives and creates a real buzz when they return home to their village”.

By donating $1,000 to CLCR, the Thunder Foundation has enabled the construction of a cricket pitch at the school, which will provide an additional outdoor activity for the students and local community.

“The building of the cricket pitch at Heartland has created a high level of excitement amongst the community. It will keep many students engaged, healthy and off the streets”, Price stated.

Construction of the cricket pitch at Heartland Academy is well underway and is expected to be completed by mid-2018.

The Heartland Academy continues to grow, with a vision to expand to rural Nepal, whilst establishing a teacher training centre to enable the training and development of young educators, which in turn helps support the local community.
